The Show at MOCA with August Bradley’s Photography alongside the new Louver Collection by Louis Verdad and the “fashion cinema” video installation by Robertino Fonseca was a fun evening with a lot of people and a lot of energy.  High profile guests included Marisa Tomei, Rose McGowan, Nicky Hilton, Nicole Richie, and Lisa Rinna. We also enjoyed meeting a wide variety of media and industry people.

There are discussions of this exhibit traveling to other cities after a few museums, galleries, and fashion industry producers saw the presentation DLAFW put on at MOCA.

For the second consecutive year, leading design and commercial art publication Graphis has selected August Bradley’s work to be included in the “Graphis Photography Annual 2009,” honoring the year’s best photographs. Along with inclusion in the book, August Bradley’s work has received the Graphis Gold award.

The Graphis Photo Annual 2009 will be available for $60 in December.

August Bradley has been selected as a “Hasselblad Master” for 2008.

“Given in recognition of a photographer’s contribution to the art of photography, the Master Award is judged on photographic ability, encompassing creativity, composition, conceptual strength and technical skill.”

“The Hasselblad Masters will each be provided with a Hasselblad H3DII DSLR camera system to use the equipment as they wish, and to create images for the 2008 Masters Book.”

August Bradley’s portfolio website has climbed to the third place rating in the popular Alexa internet ranking “Fashion Photography” directory, joining the top three along with David LaChapelle and Jill Greenberg — two of the most well-known photographers in the country.

The International Photography Awards (IPA) has announced the winners of this year’s IPA “Photographer of the Year Awards”.

With nearly 20,000 entries from over 90 countries, IPA is the world’s largest photo competition. The winning pieces will be published in the 2007 Lucie Awards coffee table book [book link]. The Best of Show Exhibit will travel worldwide after its debut in New York.
