Hasselblad Masters Presentations at MILK Studios, Oct. 22 at 2:00pm
As a part of the Hasselblad’s Masters Presentations in New York, August will discuss workflow, various stages of production, and shooting in the studio. This presentation will also feature Broncolor lighting equipment.
Broncolor at Skyline Studios, Oct. 23 at 2:00pm
As a part of Broncolor’s events at Skyline studios in New York, right next to PhotoPlus at the Javits Center, August will give a presentation on lighting simultaneously for still and motion shoots. He will evaluate scenarios with various production constraints and how to produce a successful shoot. If time permits, August may also discuss and play with some of his favorite Broncolor lighting tools.

August Bradley will be presenting a collection of new work at Downtown LA Fashion Week at MOCA’s Geffen Contemporary on Oct. 13-15. This year DLAFW features several days of runway shows revealing new collections from LA designers, as well as the MOCA fund-raiser event featuring a “Valentino, The Last Emperor” retrospective runway show. Presented as 6-foot by 4-foot mounted fine art prints, the new collection of images was shot at The Edison in collaboration with fashion stylist Alejandro Peraza and an all-star creative team, featuring exceptional L.A. designers.

For the third consecutive year, August Bradley has received the “Graphis Gold Award” and has been selected to be included in the 2010 Graphis Photo Annual “honoring the year’s best photographs”. August Bradley will be giving two presentations at PhotoPlus Expo in New York City. The topic will be the evolution of his photography style, with some additional thoughts on style trends in the industry. The presentations will be part of the Livebooks Speaker Series. For the second consecutive year, leading design and commercial art publication Graphis has selected August Bradley’s work to be included in the “Graphis Photography Annual 2009,” honoring the year’s best photographs. Along with inclusion in the book, August Bradley’s work has received the Graphis Gold award.
August Bradley has been selected as a “Hasselblad Master” for 2008.
“Given in recognition of a photographer’s contribution to the art of photography, the Master Award is judged on photographic ability, encompassing creativity, composition, conceptual strength and technical skill.”
“The Hasselblad Masters for 2008 will each be provided with a Hasselblad H3DII DSLR camera system to use the equipment as they wish, and to create images for the 2008 Masters Book.”
August Bradley has joined the board of “Cool Green Fashion for Forests“, an organization leveraging it’s relationships with the fashion and entertainment industries to help reduce greenhouse gases in the atmosphere through direct action, community education, and social motivation. With nearly 20,000 entries from over 90 countries, IPA is the world’s largest photo competition. The winning pieces will be published in the 2007 Lucie Awards coffee table book [book link]. The Best of Show Exhibit will travel worldwide after its debut in New York.

At the request of the Management Committee, August is contributing images to Cool Green Fashion for Forests and it’s efforts to raise money for and awareness of environmental conservation. The organization will be producing an annual fund-raiser fashion show, as well as creating a number of media projects to celebrate and encourage eco-friendly business practices in the industry.
